James 2: 15-17

James 2:15-17 tells us that if one of us is without clothes or food and we don't help them, give them what they need, how can we call ourselves people of faith? Faith without good works is nothing.
And so we set up Helping Hands, Healing Paws, so that we could get out there in the community and give help where needed.
Help comes in many forms, it could be a kind soul taking one of our dogs and sharing a moment in much needed laughter with someone who needs it at the ACCA in Winder, where our amazing volunteers go every week.
It could also be our cabin manager, Jen Calderhead, hearing from our friends at Tractor Supply about a homeless lady who needs help with items for her pets, but who is not able to get to our Outreach headquarters or our mobile trailer events.
Yesterday after work, Jen loaded up her car with dog food, dewormer, dog coats, leashes, collars and blankets to take to that lady who is homeless with her three dogs.
An hour or two out of Jen's day but a lifetime of difference for this lady. Not just because of the things she was given, but to experience an act of love and kindness from a stranger.
Our dogs, our people, our gifts, impact people every single day and in so many different ways...how about you join our band of volunteers and help us to help others?
We have volunteer opportunities at the cabins for those looking for a committed long term relationship with the dogs and our FAAP family, we also have shorter, 'I can do that once a month for a few hours' gigs for those with less time.
This is the time of year where we think how grateful we are. Could it also be your time to make someone else feel grateful too?
Message us or email us with your email address or phone number and let's start a conversation.
